Me and my ex-Mike decided to book a sailing holiday in the Bay of Islands in NZ. Mike had never done any sailing before and I had only sailed dinghys as a kid.

We figured that didnt matter much so we booked a 25ft yacht for a weeks sailing around the Bay of Islands in the north of the north Island in NZ. Only NZ$500 for the week. cheap as!

After a long and meandering drive up to KeriKeri, we met Rob who showed us our boat we were to live on for the next week. He asked us if we were competent sailors and we said 'well not really'. He seemed a little concerned so he showed us how to put the sails up and down and took us for a little spin, and after that we were set!

Until we hit some rough seas! Well this is as rough as we let it get. We found we got a bit scared when it got too windy so we stuck to sailing in the calm mornings and headed for shelter when it got a bit windy in the afternoon

And then it rained

So we headed for shelter and when we woke up in the morning we were here!

So we got up and went for a walk to the top of the hill. Heres me with a bad retro hairstyle, but a tad thinner

Then off for another days sailing, but this time in calmer seas.
